Schneider's Nursery - 3066 E. U.S. 50, Seymour. This, the largest
nursery in southern Indiana sells landscaping and garden plants both on
the wholesale and retail levels. Open year round, the nursery also
offers professional landscaping services and pans hundreds of acres on
both sides of highway 50 between Seymour and Brownstown.

2. Shieldstown Covered Bridge - One mile north of U.S. 50, turn right at County Road 175N. Built in 1876, the 355 foot long structure spans the East Fork of the White River and carried traffic until 1980.top 3. Long Lane Farm - 1876E CR 400 S, Brownstown. Owned and operated by the Nierman family for over 140 years, the farm covers more that 300 acres and specializes in Brown Swiss Cattle. The cows and embryos are sold throughout the U.S. and several foreign countries and the Nierman's have won numerous state and national awards for their cattle. top 4. Nierman Llama Farm - 4918S CR 125E, Brownstown. The family raised these gentle animals since 1986 on their three acre farm. Dee Nierman spins the very soft, multi-colored wool into rugs and other products. top 5. Driftwood Valley Farm - 2109W CR 575S, Vallonia. Yes, there is a Zebra in Jackson County and he lives here along the other exotic animals including peacocks, black swans, miniature donkeys and pheasants. The 52 acre farm is a hobby of owner Dennis Wishmeiser. top 6. Vallonia Nursery, Division of Forestry - 2782W CR 540S, Vallonia. Approximately three and one million seedlings are grown here annually. Forty five million different species are raised on the 250 acre facility including conifers hardwoods. Any Indiana landowner may purchase the trees, however, the major customers include coal companies who are reclaiming the land that has been mined. top 7. Driftwood State Fish Hatchery - 4931S CR 250W, Vallonia. Just down the road from the tree nursery this facility raises 400,000 largemouth bass, 250,000 two inch bass, 20,000 four inch bass and 50,000 red ear sunfish annually in nine rearing ponds. top 8. Starve Hollow Lake - 4245S CR 275W, Vallonia. In this state recreation area you'll find swimming, fishing, boat rentals and camping. At one time the 145 acre lake was the largest in the state. Although no longer the largest, it is still one of the prettiest and a favorite with area anglers. top 9. Tiemeyer's Produce - 3193S CR 300W, Vallonia. In springtime the greenhouses fill up with plants of every sort. Then, around the Fourth of July, the front yard becomes a farm market brimming with squash, potatoes, corn, tomatoes and other produce. In August, sweet, juicy, watermelons appear followed by pumpkins. top 10. Medora Covered Bridge - State Road 235, Medora. Built in 1875, this is the longest three span covered bridge in the United States. It spans 434 feet across the east fork of the White River. top 11. Stuckwish Round Barn - 4405S CR 460W, Vallonia. Constructed in 1910-11 at a cost of $1,500, this round barn is one of three that remain in Jackson County. top 12. Burcham Sheep Farm and Round Barn - 5800S State Road 135, Vallonia. The barn was built in 1900-10, is 68 feet in diameter and its wooden roof shingles were individually cut to fit. The cupola houses a Christmas tree during the Holiday Season and the sheep themselves are decorated for many of the holidays. top 13. Kamman's Farm Market - 4683S State Road 135, Vallonia. The market and greenhouses are open from early spring through late fall.
