This weekend is packed full of fun all throughout Jackson County. This weekend features plenty of opportunities to catch live music and even get your taste of Oktoberfest. Also, Indiana’s Scariest Haunted House opens this weekend!

Thursday, October 1

Taste of OktoberfestThe Seymour Brewing Company has organized its first “No Fest”, which is a food, vendor, beer garden and music festival. Many of the food and other vendors you will be familiar with from the annual Seymour Oktoberfest. Read everything about the festival by clicking this link. The festival is 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Friday, October 2

Taste of OktoberfestThe Seymour Brewing Company has organized its first “No Fest”, which is a food, vendor, beer garden and music festival. Many of the food and other vendors you will be familiar with from the annual Seymour Oktoberfest. Read everything about the festival by clicking this link. The festival is 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Live music at Rails – Adam Crabtree will be performing at 7 p.m. on the patio at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery in downtown Seymour.  Join in on the fun with some dinner, drinks and a neat atmosphere in downtown!

HauntingFear Fair – Indiana’s Scariest Haunted House opens Friday night. It serves up haunts from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturday and 8 to 10 p.m. Sundays. Click here to order tickets.

Live music at Poplar Street – Soul Express will perform at 8 p.m. at Poplar Street for its Pickfest 2020. They also will have a special menu of brats, German potato salad, persimmon pudding and pork burgers.

Live music at On the RoxOn the Rox will host its annual Roxtoberfest with live music starting at 8 p.m. Heather McGrath and Brad Cole are the Friday night hosts for music out on the patio!

Movie night – It’s movie night at Tiemeyer’s Farm Market in Vallonia and Friday they will be showing a movie on the lawn outside the market. Contact them for the movie title. Bring your own lawn chair and blankets for this free event! Popcorn will be available. They’re showing a different movie every Friday and Saturday night through Halloween. The movie starts at dusk or around 8 p.m.

Saturday, October 3

Farmers market – This is the first weekend of the Seymour Area Farmers Market’s Fall hours. Now is the time to get all your fresh Jackson County produce and other goodies at the Seymour Area Farmers Market. The hours are 9 a.m. to noon.

Help a good cause – Join organizers for the historic Lynn Street Colored School Center of Good Will for an annual BBQ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fundraiser will help raise money towards the restoration of the building. The menu will be pulled pork sandwich, bag of chips, cookies and a drink for $6. Freewill donations also will be accepted.

Fish fry – Join the Norman Conservation Club for it’s monthly fish fry from noon to 6 p.m.! At noon, the fish will begin to be served and karaoke will start. A 1960’s/70’s band will perform beginning at 3 p.m. Those who attend should bring their lawn chairs. For more information, call Reva at 812-525-7194.

Show at Jackson Live – The Lloyd Wood Show will be coming to Jackson Live at 7 p.m. This is Jackson County’s newest music venue. Order tickets by calling 812-521-1282.

Sunday, October 4

Tuesday, October 6

Daniel Boone – Danny Russel will be visiting Batar for his impersonation of Daniel Boone. Learn all about Boone while you have a gourmet lunch at scenic Batar! It’s only $25 per person. Call Batar at 812-522-8617 for information and tickets.
