Jackson County is stocked full of fun this weekend, and we thought it would be great to put it all in one place.
Here’s your guide to the weekend in Jackson County this week.

Friday, August 21

5th Annual FOP Pre-Scoop the Loop Cruise In and Car Show “Tom Gray Memorial” – This event is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. tonight in downtown Seymour. Parking begins at 3 p.m. The proceeds from the event go toward the Fraternal Order of Police’s annual Cops and Kids program that helps bring Christmas presents to children in need. High school football – The Brownstown Central Braves and Seymour Owls each kickoff tonight. The Braves have a 7 p.m. kickoff at Corydon and you can watch the game live by clicking this link. The Owls have a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at South Dearborn and you can watch the game live by clicking this link. Just remember there may be costs associated with being able to watch the game.

Gage and the 200 South Band – Gage Mull of Brownstown will lead his band during a performance from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery on the patio. Be sure to check it out and get some great dinner and drinks!

Actors Community Theater of Seymour’s opening of “Love/Sick” – ACTS opens up their showing of “Love/Sick” with a performance at 7:30 p.m. tonight at 357 Tanger Blvd. Suite 208. The show also is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $12. Tickets can be purchased through this link.

Saturday, August 22

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The farmers market is open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Stop by and get all your favorite produce and goodies. This week there will be a collaboration between Nightfall Farm and Nacho Mama’s Burritos. Nacho Mama’s will be using Nightfall Farm’s eggs for their delicious burritos. Seymour Main Street Downtown Shop Around – Visit businesses in downtown Seymour between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday for the Downtown Shop Around. Get your card stamped at locations to be entered to win some cool prizes from Seymour Main Street.

Indiana High School & Junior High Association rodeo – How often do you get to see a rodeo? Well, in Jackson County, you have two opportunities this weekend. The rodeo starts at 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. It’s only $5 for adults and kids 12 and under are free. Mixed Media – This band will have you tapping your toes and enjoying the evening at 7:30 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant on the patio. Enjoy some great food and drinks.
