Turkey Trot – Girls Inc. of Jackson County will host its annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 8K & 5K, at 7:30 a.m. at Girls Inc. of Jackson County, 956 North O’Brien Street, Seymour. Click here to register.


Friday, November 25

Gobbler’s Nightmare – Hickory Hills Golf Club will host its annual Gobbler’s Nightmare golf scramble at 10 a.m. at the course in Brownstown. It’s an 18-hole, 2-person scramble. It’s $120 per team with a cash payout. Call the shop at 812-358-4529 for information.

Seedlings + Company Open House – Seedlings + Company will host its Christmas Open House from 5 to 9 p.m. at the store, 120 North Chestnut Street, in downtown Seymour. The night will feature drinks, snacks, and new items for the season.

Wonderland of Lights – The Tiemeyer’s Farm Market Wonderland of Lights will run at 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturday from November 18 through December 17 at the market, 3147 South County Road 300W, Vallonia. Rides begin at 6 p.m. and run each hour. Tickets are $10 per person, or $8 for private groups. (Private groups may schedule on off night with a minimum of 30). Live music at the Seymour Brewing Co. – Seymour Pipes & Drums band will play at 7 p.m. and Brad Treadway will play at 8 p.m. at the Seymour Brewing Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Comedy Night – The Pacey Apothecary will host stand up Comedy Night at 7:30 p.m. at the store, 125 East Second Street, Seymour. The night will feature Jon Cain, Devin Glass, and Jeremy Seward. Tickets are $10. Click here for tickets.


Saturday, November 26

Pancake Breakfast – The Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department will host a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the fire station, 200 Moore Street, Crothersville. Meals will be $5 or a boxed new toy and include two pancakes, one sausage patty, and a drink with all proceeds going to the Crothersville FFA’s Toy and Food Drive.

Shop Small Saturday – It’s Shop Small Saturday! Go out and support your favorite local business in Jackson County. Remember to shop local for gifts this holiday season.

Downtown Shop Around – Seymour Main Street’s Downtown Shop Around will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Seymour. Visit participating stores to pick up a stamp card at participating locations and three winners will be selected for a $100, $50, and $25 gift card of your choice.

Seymour Christmas Festival – The second Seymour Christmas Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Girls Inc. of Jackson County, 956 North O’Brien Street, Seymour. Traditional Wreath Workshop – Schneider Nursery will host a Wreath Workshop at 10 a.m. at the nursery as part of its Small Town Christmas. Tickets are $45 and you can purchase by clicking here.

Mug Club Member Party Seymour Brewing Co. – There will be a private Mug Club Member party from noon to 2 p.m. at the Seymour Brewing Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour. Ruben Guthrie will perform during the event.

Meet the Author – The Magic of Books Bookstore will host a Meet the Author event with Skye Nicholson from noon to 3 p.m. at the store, 115 West Second Street, in downtown Seymour.

SWAG Workshop – Schneider Nursery will host a SWAG Workshop at 6:30 p.m. at the nursery as part of its Small Town Christmas. The staff at Schneider Nursery will help you to create a unique and fun décor piece. Using live greenery, you will construct your swag then personalize it however you choose! Holiday treats and adult beverages will be served. Schneider Swag tickets include fresh greenery, a bow, berries, and pine cones. Ornaments and additional add-ons will be available for purchase.
