It’s that time of the year again! Easter Egg Hunts have been scheduled ahead of the holiday. Here’s a list of where the Easter Bunny will leave eggs between now and Easter!

Please note that if your organization has schedule a hunt that does not appear on this list, please send information to jordan@jacksoncountyin.com.

Saturday, April 9

Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County Easter Egg Hunt – 10 a.m., April 9, at Emerson Elementary School. Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host the Tom Judd Memorial Egg-stra Special Easter Egg Hunt for individuals with special needs. Ages 18 and younger will have the hunt at 10 a.m. while an adult egg hunt will start at 10:30 a.m.

Starve Hollow State Recreation Area Easter Egg Hunt – 10 a.m., April, at the campground. For those 12 and younger. The day also includes an Egg and Spoon Race at noon, an Egg-ucational Scavenger Hunt (all day) and photos with the Easter Bunny.

Trinity United Methodist Church – 10 a.m., April 9, at the church, 333 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. Open ages 0-12.

Hoosier Christian Village – 1 p.m., April 9, at Hoosier Christian Village, 621 South Sugar Street, Brownstown.


Saturday, April 16

City of Seymour Easter Egg Hunt – 9:30 a.m., April 16, at Gaiser Park. The Easter Bunny will arrive at 9:30 a.m. and then the hunt will begin at 10 a.m. The event also will feature photos with the Easter Bunny printed for free by Walgreens.  Age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12.

Freetown Church of Christ Easter Egg Hunt – 10 a.m. April 16, at the church, 7077 North State Road 135, Freetown. Doughnuts with the Easter Bunny is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and the egg hunt will begin at 10 a.m. Breakfast is free and open to the public. The hunt is for kids infant-fifth grade.

Sheriff’s Department Easter Egg Hunt – 10 a.m., April 16, at the department, 150 East State Road 250, Brownstown. There will be bicycles and other great prizes for all age groups. Age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12.

Reddington Christian Church Easter Egg Hunt – 10 a.m., April 16, at the church, 10516 U.S. 31, Seymour.

First Baptist Church of Seymour – 10 a.m., April 16, at the church, 505 Community Drive, Seymour. The event includes music, the Easter story. Bring your own basket.

Jackson Masonic Lodge #146 – 10 a.m. and noon, April 16, at the lodge, 1818 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Lunch will be available and the Order of the Eastern Star will host a bake sale.

Community Church Brownstown – 11 a.m., April 16, Jackson-Washington State Forest Museum Shelter House. Free lunch will be served. Categories are 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12.

Medora Masonic Lodge #328 – Noon, April 16, at the lodge. Age Groups: Pre-School, Kindergarten, first through third grades, fourth through sixth grades.

Freedom Fireworks Easter Egg Hunt – 2 p.m., April 16, at the Jackson County Courthouse lawn, Brownstown. Age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12. There will be prizes, photos with the Easter Bunny and more. 16,000 eggs and more than 100 prizes will be available. Registration begins as early at 10 a.m.

Surprise Christian Church – 2 p.m., April 16, at the church, 6382 North County Road 100W, Surprise.

Brownstown Church of the Nazarene – 3 p.m., April 16, at the church, 616 West Commerce Street, Brownstown. This event includes the Family Color Run and egg hunt. Wear a white shirt for the run to prepare to be splattered with rainbow color. The event also includes giveaways, face painting, cotton candy, games and more.

Brownstown First Baptist Church – 4 p.m., April 16, at the church, 1095 South State Road 135, Brownstown. For children up to fifth grade.


Sunday, April 17

First United Methodist Church of Seymour Easter Egg Hunt – 9:30 a.m., April 17, at the church, 201 East Third Street, Seymour.

St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church – 9:30 p.m., April 17, at the church, 403 West Bridge Street, Brownstown.
