The Jackson County Chamber will host the Spark Tank Pitch Competition at 6 p.m. March 27, at Jackson Live & Event Center, 981 C Avenue E, Seymour. The event is open to the public and includes refreshments while the top five make their pitches for the top prizes of $10,000 to help jump-start their business.

The Jackson County Walking Pals will meet at 9 a.m. March 29, at the Jackson-Washington State Forest in Brownstown. The group walks at a steady pace for an hour with their dogs. The group will meet at the first gravel spot at the forestry entrance.

Winding Waters invasive Partnership will host a Weed Wrangle from 9 a.m. to noon, March 29, at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and snacks will be provided. This volunteer opportunity is open to all ages.
