Thursday, May 8

Wings Over Seymour – The Southern Indiana Flying Eagles will host a fly in benefit for the Jackson County Dog Shelter and Jackson County Humane Society from May 8 through May 11, at the RC field at Freeman Field.

Slices & Songs – Slices & Songs featuring the Seymour High School Choir will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 8, at The Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Open Mic Night – Michael Staublin will host Open Mic Night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. May 8, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour. It’s free to join and open to anyone.


Friday, May 9

Wings Over Seymour – The Southern Indiana Flying Eagles will host a fly in benefit for the Jackson County Dog Shelter and Jackson County Humane Society from May 8 through May 11, at the RC field at Freeman Field.

Golf Outing – The Tonya Cassidy Memorial Golf Scramble will be held at 1 p.m. May 9, at Shadowood Golf Course, 333 North Sandy Creek Drive, Seymour. The scramble is organized by F.C. Tucker Real Estate. Click here for more information.

Car Show – The Cruisin’ for a Cause Car Show will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 9, in the Seymour High School Parking Lot, 1350 West Second Street, Seymour. The event is free to attend and will include the car show, food by Junkyard BBQ & Kona Ice, music, prizes, and more. It’s $10 to enter a car. Proceeds will go to the Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County.

Live music at Chateau de Pique – The Ang Trio will perform at 6 p.m. May 9, at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery. 250 Grill food truck will be on site during music.

Live music at Rails – Coleshine will perform at 7 p.m. May 9, on the patio at Rails Craft Brewery in Seymour. In the event of rain, music will be moved indoors.

Live music at Poplar Street – Justin Slager Band will perform at 7 p.m. May 9, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at the Eagles – Fred & Steve will play at 7:30 p.m. May 9, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.

MayDay Wrestling Match – Supreme Wrestling will host the MayDay Wrestling Match at 7:30 p.m. May 9, at the Knights of Columbus, 118 East Second Street. Tickets are $12 at the door, advance tickets are $10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.


Saturday, May 10

Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire – The Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire will host its Steampunk/Time Travel Weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 10 & 11, at Swifty Farms, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Click here for a video walk-through.

Freeman Army Airfield – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Mother’s Day Brunch – Lola’s Modern Kitchen will host a Mother’s Day Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10, with special menu items for mom. For reservations, call 812-777-5707.

JCCT Celebration – Jackson County Community Theatre will host a 55th anniversary celebration at 5:30 p.m. May 10, at the Pines Evergreen Room, 4120 U.S. 31, Seymour.Enjoy dinner music by Ron Duncan, followed by a performance by Reed Steele and Donata Cucinotta! Race – Saturday Night Racing will begin at 6 p.m. May 10, at Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will include Super Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Crown Vics, and Hornets. Click here for information.

Wednesday, May 14

Nature Time – The Muscatatuck Wildlife Society will host Nature Time at 9:30 a.m. May 14, at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. There is a different topic each month, and the program is geared toward preschool-aged children. No registration required.

Open Mic Night – Dane Darlage will host open mic night at 6:30 p.m. May 14, at The Bearded Hobo, 1029 West Commerce Street, Brownstown.
