It’s the final weekend in October, and we hope you had an incredible month of fun in Jackson County! This month will end with all kinds of fun, especially for the kids with all the Halloween events! Here’s Your Guide to the Weekend.

Thursday, October 28

Brownstown Ewing Main Street Trick or Treat – Brownstown Ewing Main Street will host a trick or treat event at 5 p.m. October 28, at the Jackson County Courthouse.


Friday, October 29

Fear Fair – Indiana’s Scariest Haunted House will offer haunts from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Order tickets by clicking here.

Movie Night at Tiemeyer’s Farm Market – Tiemeyer’s Farm Market will show “Hocus Pocus” and then “The Lost Boys” for movie night. Movies are free and start at dusk. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs.

Haunted Trail and Corn Maze – Tiemeyer’s Timber Terrors will offer up its haunted trail and corn maze at Tiemeyer’s Farm Market. All the haunted will being at dusk. Admission is $15 for the trail and $10 for the maze.


Saturday, October 30

Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot.

‘Hollow’ween Spooktacular – Starve Hollow State Recreation Area is hosting its ‘Hollow’een Spooktacular from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The schedule includes a pumpkin decorating contest, tie dye making, trick or treating, costume contest, campsite decorating and haunted trail!

Tee time – St. John’s White Creek and St. Paul Jonesville will host a golf outing to benefit youth attending the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Youth Gathering. The outing begins at 11:30 a.m. at Shadowood Golf Course.

Ability 5K – The Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host the Ability 5K at 1 p.m. at Harmony Park. The cost is a freewill donation and it will not be a timed event.

Trunk or Treat – There are eight Trunk or Treat events on Saturday, October 30, click here to find the list.

Trick or Treat – The Jackson County Visitor Center will be giving out candy from 6 to 8 p.m. at the depot, 100 North Broadway Street, Seymour. Bring the family to see and get some candy!

Trick or Treat – The town of Brownstown and Medora, as well as the city of Seymour will have its official Trick or Treat hours from 6 to 8 p.m. October 30. Crothersville will be from 6 to 9 p.m. October 30.

Live Music at Jackson Live – Country music favorite Doug Stone will play at 7 p.m. at Jackson Live. Tickets are available by calling 812-521-1282.

Haunted Car Wash – Jeff’s Car Wash will host a Haunted Car Wash from 7 to 11 p.m. The event includes the haunted car wash and candy with the purchase of a car wash.

Live Music at the Moose Lodge – Past Tense will play from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Seymour.

Zombie Hunt at Starve Hollow – Participate in the Starve Hollow State Recreation Area’s Zombie Hunt from October 17 through October 31. Stop by the Main Gate to purchase your Zombie Hunting License for $5.00 and go on the hunt of an after-life time. Ten zombies will be hidden throughout Starve Hollow and to stop them you must take a selfie with them. Find all 10 and bring your Zombie Hunting License and the selfies back to the Main Gate or the Forest Education Center and if you’re successful, you can choose a Starve Hollow SRA Souvenir Cup or Koozie while supplies last.


Sunday, October 31

Halloween Block Party – There will be a Halloween Block Party beginning at 4 p.m. on Second Street between Chestnut and Walnut streets in downtown Seymour. It will include food vendors, live wrestling show, costume contest, music, games and more!

Seymour First Baptist Church – The Seymour First Baptist Church will host a Drive Thru Trick or Treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. October 31 at the church, 505 Community Drive, Seymour.

Calvary Baptist Church – Calvary Baptist Church will host its trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m. October 31, at the church, 1202 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Food also will be available.

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will host its trunk or treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on October 31, at the church, 403 West Bridge Street, Brownstown.
