Thursday, April 27

Food Truck & Music Night – Grub A Dub Dub and Sno Biz food trucks will be at the John Mellencamp mural from 4 to 8 p.m., April 27, for the Food Trucks & Live Music night. Music will be provided by This Old Guitar Music Store. This event is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mellencamp mural each Thursday in April.


Friday, April 28

Crossroads Acoustic Fest – Crossroads Acoustic Fest will return to downtown Seymour for the first time since 2019! This year’s event will be held April 28-29 at multiple listening rooms including the Knights of Columbus, Brewskies Downtown, The Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Jackson County Visitor Center. Live Music at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery – Mike Staublin will play at 7 p.m., April 28, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue.

‘Dial ‘M’ for Murder’ – The Jackson County Community Theatre will present “Dial ‘M’ for Murder” with shows at 7:30 p.m. April 21, 22, 28, 29 at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre in Brownstown. There will be a matinee at 2:30 p.m. April 23. Click here to order tickets or call 812-358-5228.


Saturday, April 29

Boutique Bash – The Crothersville Girls Volleyball team will host its annual Boutique Bash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 29, in the school gymnasium, 109 Preston Street, Crothersville. The event will feature more than 30 vendors. Click here to follow on Facebook.

Tractor Drive – The Wente Farm will host a 29-mile tractor drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 29, leaving from the farm at 1340 East County Road 1050 North, Seymour. Those who participate are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. For more information, call Howard Wente at 812-524-2433.

Houston Jeep and Truck Ride – The Houston Benefit Ride will begin at noon, April 29, at the historic Houston school, 9830 North County Road 750W, Norman. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and it is $25 per driver. There also will be meal, which will be free to drivers and $7 for riders. This ride is open to Jeeps, trucks, 4X4s, side-by-sides, and more. The event also includes music, raffles and fun.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 29, 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. If you cannot make it during those hours, you may schedule a tour by calling 812-271-1821.

Kidfest – The Child Care Network’s Kids Fest will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 29, at Seymour Middle School. There will be multiple vendors will all kinds of fun activities and community resources for families. The event will feature a petting zoo, Touch A Truck, snow cones and more.

Larry McDonald Memorial Guitar Show – The Larry McDonald Memorial Guitar Show is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m., April 29, at the Knights of Columbus, 118 East Second Street, in downtown Seymour. It’s free to attend the show. At 1 p.m., Pat Sullivan will give a presentation on building guitars. For those who wish to have a space available to display instruments, call This Old Guitar at 812-524-8986. Proceeds from this event will go to the Larry McDonald Music Fund at the Community Foundation of Jackson County, which provides scholarships to Seymour High School students to help cover the costs of instrument rentals or purchases.

Crothersville History Month – The Crothersville History and Cultural Arts Association will observe Crothersville History Month from 2 to 5 p.m. April 29, at Hamacher Hall, 211 East Howard Street, Crothersville. Members are asked to bring any Crothersville artifacts to be displayed during the event. There will be a meal of spaghetti, breadsticks, tea, lemonade, and water for a $5 donation. Seymour Spring Festival – The Seymour Spring Festival will be from 4 to 8 p.m., April 29, in the Second Street block between Indianapolis Avenue and Chestnut Street. There will be live music, food, and vendors.

Sunday, April 30

Car Show – The Trinity Lutheran Cougar Cruisers Car Show is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 30, at the school, 1 Trinity Way, Seymour. There will be food, shirts, door prizes, raffles, and more. A portion of the proceeds will go to scholarship fund for participating members of the club.

Wednesday, May 3

Food & Beer Pairing – The Chasing Bubbles Foundation will host a Food & Beer Pairing event from 6 to 8 p.m., May 3, at Schwatzer’s German Restaurant, 113 Indianapolis Avenue, Seymour. It’s $70 to attend the event and includes a 7 course meal with a unique 4-ounce pour of beer with each course.
