Thursday, May 12

SICA Art Club – Join the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Art Club from 2 to 7 p.m. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Bring what you’ve been working on and enjoy the company of other artists.

LIVEstock Music Festival – The LIVEstock Music Festival is scheduled for May 12 through May 15 at Black Swan Lake in Medora. The festival features music, art, food, camping and more. Click here for the full line up and how to get tickets.

Slices & Songs – Seymour High School choirs will host Slices & Songs from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour. Proceeds from pizza sales will benefit the choral program. There will be music from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free, but freewill donations will be accepted.

Seymour Historic Walking Tour –  Join local historian Kevin Greene for a walking history tour of the Seymour Boulevards  at 6 p.m. The tour will begin at Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour. Learn about the area’s historic significance and architecture. Live music at Reed’s Place – Fred Elam will play from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, 224 South Chestnut Street.


Friday, May 13

Frühlingsfest – The Knights of Columbus Council 1252 in Seymour will host the second Frühlingsfest from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the B&O Parking Lot in downtown Seymour. Check out the guide by clicking here.

Car Show – The Hot Rods & Academics SHS Cruise In Car Show will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Seymour High School, 1350 West Second Street, Seymour. This show benefits the Seymour High School CARR Club. Information: 812-522-4384.

Live music at Seymour Brewing Co. – Daniel Mason will play at 6 p.m. at Seymour Brewing Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at San Marco’s Mexican Restaurant – A live Mariachi band will perform at 6 p.m. at San Marco’s Mexican Restaurant, 501 North Ewing Street, Seymour.

Live music at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles – Fred & Steve Acoustic Show will play from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at On the Rox – 9 to 44 will perform at 8 p.m. on the patio at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour. 

Stardust Movie Series – The Jackson County Chamber’s Star Dust Movie Series will be at sundown at Gaiser Park. The Bee Movie will be shown and is sponsored by the Chamber’s Environmental Committee and Jackson County Recycling District. Bring blankets and chairs. Snacks will be available for purchase.

Halfway to Halloween – It’s Fear Fair’s only off season event of the year! The Halfway to Halloween event will begin at 8 p.m. Click here to order tickets.


Saturday, May 14

Jackson County Archaeological Show – The Jackson County Archaeological Show will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carr Township Conservation Club in Medora. Browse through Native American artifacts and more for this interesting event.

Gray-Bear Market – The Gray-Bear Market is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Girls Inc. of Jackson County, 956 North O’Brien Street, Seymour. Browse through all 40-plus vendors. There is no charge for admission. Door prizes will be given out. Click here for the guide to see who all will be there.

Spring Bazaar – Making It Rain for Raines – The Southeast District of United Women is hosting a Spring Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First United Methodist church, 201 East Third Street, Seymour. The event benefits the Lucille Raines Residence in Indianapolis., which is fully funded by the Indiana United Women in Faith, and help those who are rebuilding their lives after substance abuse.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. Be sure to check out this wonderful place that is open each Saturday!

Golf Scramble – The Clyde Allman Memorial Golf Scramble will take place at noon at Hickory Hills Golf Club, 1509 State Road 135, Brownstown. For information, call 812-216-3892.

Euchre Tournament – The Pershing Township Lions Club Soup Supper and Euchre Tournament will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 6807 North Union Street, Freetwon. The menu includes chili, bean and potato soup, cornbread, hot dogs and homemade desserts. It’s $5 for the meal and $5 to participate in the tournament.  The event is open to the public and all proceeds benefit the Lions Club charity projects. Race – It’s the 39th Hoosier Dirt Classic at Brownstown Speedway! Be sure to stop by the track and see the Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics. View the full schedule and get ticket information at brownstownspeedway.com.

TYFL Kick Off Cookout – The Trinity Youth Football League will be hosting a cookout from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran School. There will be pork burgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks. Food will be offered as take out.

Trivia Night at Poplar Street Restaurant – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host its spring trivia series at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour. The series is five straight weeks and each week will be a different theme.
