The weekend is about here and that means more fun all throughout Jackson County!

Thursday, June 6

SICA Open Hours – SICA will be open for regular hours, 1 to 6 p.m. June 6. There’s also the opportunity to work on art during the open hours. While there will be no formal instruction, this time will allow artists and those interested in art to gather and collaborate. For more information call or text 812-522-2278.

Live music at Reed’s – Fred Elam will play at 7 p.m. June 6, at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, at 224 South Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Crothersville Red, White & Blue Festival – The Crothersville Red, White & Blue Festival will take place June 5 through June 8 in Crothersville. The festival will include food, carnival, crafts, music, parade, 5K, Fireworks, baby contest, car show, tractor show, and more.


Friday, June 7

Jackson County Antique Machinery Show – The 15th annual Jackson County Antique Machinery Show will take place June 7 & 8 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The show will feature Ford, Massey, Ferguson Tractors and Michigan built engines, but all makes and models are welcome. It’s $2 to enter, and Veterans receive free admission on June 7. The event includes a tractor drive, swap meet, flea market, cake walk, silent auction, and children’s activities. Info: 812-521-8535.

Hard Truth Tasting at Vick’s – Vick’s Liquor Store will host a Hard Truth tasting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 7, at the store, 400 East Tipton Street, Seymour. There will be cocktail samples as well as a tasting of all Hard Truth products.

Friday Night Live – The Funky Band will play Friday Night Live at 7 p.m. June 7, at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, 2001 North Ewing Street in Seymour. There also will be food and art during the event. Those who attend are welcome to bring coolers and lawn chairs.


Saturday, June 8

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon, June 8, in the farmers market lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Rock’n Ready Music Night – The Jackson County United Way will host the Rock’n Ready Music Night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 8, at Harmony Park, 753 West Second Street, Seymour. The event will benefit the Rock’n Ready school supply drive, which provides school supplies to students in need. Featured music will be John Whitcomb and the Drifters.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Live music at Reed’s – Forrest Turner will play at 7 p.m. June 8, at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, at 224 South Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Live music at The Thirsty Sportsman – Country Bourne will play at 9 p.m. June 8, at The Thirsty Sportsman, 205 North Armstrong Street, Crothersville.

Tasting – Vick’s Liquor Store will host a tasting of the new Jim Beam 7 bourbon as well as other offerings from the distillery from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 12, at the store, 400 East Tipton Street, Seymour.

Jackson County Bicycle Club – The Jackson County Bicycle Club will meet at 6 p.m. June 12 in the parking lot of Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street, Seymour. Visit the group’s Facebook group for all the details.
