Thursday, August 4

Hoosier Scale Fly-In – The Southern Indiana Flying Eagles in Seymour will host the Hoosier Scale Fly-In August 4-6 at the Freeman Field Airport. Use the State Road 11 entrance into Freeman Field Industrial Park and follow the signs to the airfield. There will be flying from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 4 and 5, and from 10 a.m. to noon August 6. Concessions will be available all three days.

SICA Art Club – Join the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Art Club from 2 to 7 p.m. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Bring what you’ve been working on and enjoy the company of other artists.


Friday, August 5

Live music at Poplar Street Restaurant – Brad Treadway will play at  7 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at Rails – Jackson Snelling will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Friday Night Live – Songwriters in the Round will be this month’s Friday Night Live at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ from 7 to 9 p.m.. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Local songwriters Joseph Persinger, Colt Wienhorst, Harvey Adams, and Forrest Turner will share original tunes. This show is presented by SICA and the Crossroads Acoustic Team.

Live music at the Eagles – Dave Campbell will play at 7:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at On the Rox – Thunderbolt & Lightfoot will perform at 8 p.m. on the patio at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour.


Saturday, August 6

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot in Seymour.

Medora Community Farmers Market & Yard Sale – The Medora Town Park will host a community Farmers Market and Yard Sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the park.

Hackman Family Farm Market Celebration – The Hackman Family Farm Market will host a celebration for its 10th anniversary from 9 a.m. to noon at the market, 6077 South State Road 135, Vallonia. There will be breakfast, games, prizes, and cake to share with everyone.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. Be sure to check out this wonderful place that is open each Saturday!

Live music at Chateau de Pique – Buck Knawe will play from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery. There will be food from Stag’s Mobile Kitchen and wine, beer, and cider from Chateau de Pique.

BEMS Summer Concert Series – The Brownstown Ewing Main Street Summer Concert Series featuring Christine Kindred will take place at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park, 121 East Walnut Street, Brownstown. There will be food trucks and adult beverages available for purchase. Forrest Turner will open.

Race – It’s the 18th Hall of Fame Classic at Brownstown Speedway! Be sure to stop by the track and see the Super Late Models go for the $10,000 prize as well as Modifieds, Super Stocks and Crown Vics. View the full schedule and get ticket information at brownstownspeedway.com.

Dinner on the Medora Covered Bridge – Join the Friends of the Medora Covered Bridge for its annual fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. on the bridge. It’s $30 per person and includes a meal and entertainment. There also will be a silent auction and more fun. Tickets are available at the Jackson County Visitor Center.

Live music at Rails – Soul Shine will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at the Eagles – Jason Dozier will play at 7:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.

Stardust Movie Series – The Town of Medora is sponsoring the Jackson County Chamber’s Stardust Movie Series. The Sandlot will be shown at dusk at the Medora Town Park. Bring your blankets and chairs!

Live music at the Moose – ASH will play at 9 p.m. on the patio at the Seymour Moose 418, 110 East Sixth Street, Seymour.

Trivia Night – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host its trivia series at 7 p.m. every Tuesday from July 12 through August 9 at Seymour Pizza Palace, 832 West Tipton Street, Seymour.


Wednesday, August 10

SICA Art Club – Join the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Art Club from 2 to 7 p.m. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Bring what you’ve been working on and enjoy the company of other artists.

Wednesday Evening Rides – Join the Jackson County Bicycle Club for its Wednesday Evening Ride. The group will leave at 6 p.m. from Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street from the parking lot facing Westgate Road. This week’s ride is 9 miles. The group increases each week by a half mile until they reach 10-mile rides each week through October. Visit the Facebook group for updates and more information.
