Thursday, September 15

SICA Art Club – Join the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Art Club from 2 to 7 p.m. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Bring what you’ve been working on and enjoy the company of other artists.

Seymour City Jam – Join Seymour Main Street for the Seymour City Jam at 6:30 p.m. at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour. This month will feature The Flying Buffalos. Food and drinks will be available beginning at 6 p.m. Don’t forget to stop by the sponsor booths too!


Friday, September 16

Live music at Poplar Street Restaurant – Matt Trimnell will play at 7 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at Harmony Park –  Sy Zickler and Albert Nolting will play at 7 p.m. at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour. 

‘The Outsider’ – Jackson County Community Theatre will present “The Outsider” at 7:30 p.m. September 16, 17, 23, 24 at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre in Brownstown. There will be a matinee at 2:30 p.m. September 18. Click here to order tickets or call 812-358-5228.

Live music at The Eagles – Hewitt + Fink will play at 7:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at On the Rox – 9 to 44 will perform at 8 p.m. on the patio at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour.


Saturday, September 17

Guided Bird Walk – Join the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge for its monthly Guided Bird Walk! The easy and short bird walks will start at 8 a.m. in the refuge visitor center parking lot.

Refuge Clean Up Day – Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host an early celebration of National Public Lands Day with a volunteer work day from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be work for volunteers of all ages and abilities with the goal of cleaning up the refuge. Everyone is welcome. For information, call 812-522-4352, ext. 12, or email muscatatuck@fws.gov.

Jackson County Horseshoe Tournament – The 56th annual Jackson County Horseshoe Tournament will be at 9 a.m. at Gaiser Park. There are qualifying rounds from 5 to 8 p.m. on September 1 and 2. For information, call Glenn Hollin at 812-498-7652.

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market Market Lite fall season will operate from 9 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot in Seymour.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. Be sure to check out this wonderful place that is open each Saturday!

Kilnfest – The third annual Medora Brick Plant Kilnfest will be from noon to midnight at the former plant, 8202 West County Road 425S, Medora. There will be live music, craft vendors, food, kiddie games, Gypsy Tavern for adult beverage, Sno Biz, a live auction, and tours of the site.

Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County Golf Scramble Fundraiser – The Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host its golf scramble at 1 p.m. at Hickory Hills Golf Club in Brownstown. It’s $60 per person and includes golf, golf cart, and lunch. Email names of four-person teams to zspicer@tribtown.com.

Hamilton Township VFD Annual Chicken BBQ – The Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Department will offer its annual Chicken BBQ from 4 to 7 p.m. at the department, 6842 North County Road 400E, Seymour. There also will be pork burgers and sides available.

Bluegrass Jamboree – The Norman Station Conservation Club Bluegrass Jamboree will be from 5 to 9 p.m. at the club, 12157 West County Road 450N, Norman. There will be food and drinks available for purchase. The concert is free to attend. Information: 812-525-7194.

Artful Affair – SICA’s annual fundraiser, Artful Affair, will return with live music, art, and refreshments at Chateau de Pique Winery and Brewery in Seymour. Music will be by John Mellencamp and Lilly & Madeleine. Tickets are $175 for general admission, $150 for members. Tickets are going fast, so they may not be available, but click here to find out.

Race – The Schafer Photo & Custom Tees Night will be held at Brownstown Speedway! Be sure to stop by the track and see the Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics. View the full schedule and get ticket information at brownstownspeedway.com.

Live music at Brewskies Downtown – The Fabulous Hickbillies will play at 7 p.m. at Brewkies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.
