Wednesday, May 1

SICA Open Hours – SICA will be open for regular hours, 1 to 6 p.m. May 1. There’s also the opportunity to work on art during the open hours. While there will be no formal instruction, this time will allow artists and those interested in art to gather and collaborate. For more information call or text 812-522-2278.

Vick’s Liquor Store Tasting – Vick’s Liquor Store will host a Mint Julep tasting at 6 p.m. May 1, at the store, 400 East Tipton Street, Seymour. There also will be Starlight Rum Finished Bourbon, Maker’s Mark, and Woodford Reserve available to taste.


Thursday, May 2

SICA Open Hours – SICA will be open for regular hours, 1 to 6 p.m. May 2. There’s also the opportunity to work on art during the open hours. While there will be no formal instruction, this time will allow artists and those interested in art to gather and collaborate. For more information call or text 812-522-2278.


Friday, May 3

The Arc Market – The Arc Market Garage Sale will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 3, at 100 Stevens Drive, Seymour. Proceeds will go to benefit the Arc of Jackson County, which advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Customer Appreciation Day – JCBank will host Customer Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3, at branch locations in Seymour. There will be gifts, snacks, and raffles to celebrate.

Friday Night Live – Daniel Deckard will perform for the first SICA Friday Night Live at 7 p.m. May 3, at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. There will be Stag’s Food Truck, pottery painting, free ice cream, games, and art as well. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome.

Live music at Brewskies Downtown – The Kyle Smith Band will perform at 7 p.m. May 3, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour. It’s $20 to see the show, and tickets can be order by clicking here.

Medora Timberjacks – The Medora Timberjacks will host Derby City at 7 p.m. May 3, at Medora High School, 200 West Block Main Street, Medora.


Saturday, May 4

Crothersville Community Yard Sale Day – The Crothersville Community Yard Sale Day will begin at 7 a.m. May 4, in the community of Crothersville.

Mother’s Day Craft Show – Stuckwish Farm Market’s annual Mother’s Day Craft Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4, at the market, 4683 State Road 135, Vallonia. Check out the craft vendors, have lunch, take in live music, and walk through the greenhouse. Info: 812-569-1825.

Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire – The Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire will host its festival for Fantasy Underworld weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 4, at Swifty Events Center, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Click here for more information.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Seymour Museum Center – The Seymour Museum Center will be open for its regular hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4, at 220 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Tri County Conservation Club Fish Fry – The Tri County Conservation Club Fish Fry is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4, at 8705 East County Road 800S.

Scott Patman Memorial – The Scott Patman Memorial at the Brownstown Speedway is scheduled for May 4, at the track, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will be the super stock special and include super stocks, ILMS pro late models, pure stocks, hornets, and Crown Vics. Click here for information.

‘The Diviners’ – Seymour ACTS will present ‘The Diviners’ with shows at 7:30 p.m. May 4, 10, 11, at the theater, 357 Tanger Blvd., Seymour. There will be a matinee at 2:30 p.m. May 5.Tickets will be available at the door or by clicking here.

Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire – The Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire will host its festival for Fantasy Underworld weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 5, at Swifty Events Center, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Click here for more information.

‘The Diviners’ – Seymour ACTS will present ‘The Diviners’ with a matinee at 2:30 p.m. at the theater, 357 Tanger Blvd., Seymour. Tickets will be available at the door or by clicking here.

Nature Time – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host its Nature Time Pre School Program at 9:30 a.m. May 8, at the refuge visitor center, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. There will be a new theme each month, and preregistration is not required.

Wings Over Muscatatuck – Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host the annual Wings Over Muscatatuck from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 11, at the refuge, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. The event will include bird programs, children’s activities, and more.

Fashion Forward – Spring boutique market highlighting Jackson Countybusinesses. Shop at local boutiques and food trucks! Through this event, wewill Pay It (Fashion) Forward, by donating clothing and hygiene items toJackson County agencies for residents in need. There is no admission cost,however new/gently used clothing donations will be accepted at the event.

Tuesday, May 14

Sip & Savor Spring Tasting – Seymour Tri Kappa will host the Sip & Savor Spring Tasting event at 6 p.m. May 14, at Vat & Barrel, 212 East Second Street, Seymour. Those who attend will get their choice of a blind flight featuring Indiana beer, bourbon, cocktails or wine. It’s $27 per person, or $25 for two or more with proceeds going to the group’s scholarship fund. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

Castrol FloRacing Night in America – The Castrol FloRacing Night in America at the Brownstown Speedway is scheduled for May 14, at the track, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature Super Late Models with $20,000 to win, plus Super Stocks. Click here for information.

U.S. 50 Yard Sales – The U.S. 50 Yard Sales will operate Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19. There are no formal hours for the event.

Hen & Chicks Barn Market – Hen and Chicks Barn Market will operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 17, at the Three Bin Farm. More than 70 vendors will be at the farm along with food, drinks, and music.

Clearspring Roots Festival – The Clearspring Roots Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 27, at 3248 North Broadway, Norman. The festival will feature food, crafts, music, ice cream, and more. There will be free ice cream scoops to the first 200 people who donate to the Clearspring Baptist Church food pantry. Proceeds from the event will go toward to the Clearspring Cemetery and Clearspring Baptist Church food pantry.
