It’s a busy weekend in Jackson County! Take a look at that calendar and plan your weekend of fun!

Thursday, April 25

SICA Open Hours – SICA will be open for regular hours, 1 to 6 p.m. April 25. There’s also the opportunity to work on art during the open hours. While there will be no formal instruction, this time will allow artists and those interested in art to gather and collaborate. For more information call or text 812-522-2278.

Karaoke Night – Karaoke Night will be at 6 p.m. April 25, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Purdue Club Annual Dinner – The Jackson County Purdue Club will host its annual dinner and scholarship fundraising event at 6 p.m. April 25, at Pewter Hall in Brownstown.

Java with JACSY – Moxie Coffee Company will host Java with JACSY from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 25, at the coffee shop, 218 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The event will include a journey through a variety of coffee drinks made at the shop. Tickets are $40 with proceeds going


Friday, April 26

Spring Art Fling – Amy Motazedi Fine Art will host a Spring Art Fling from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 26, at the shop, 1016 West Walnut Street, Brownstown. 20% of sales will go to benefit Brownstown elementary and middle schools.

Crossroads Acoustic Fest – Crossroads Acoustic Fest will begin at 5 p.m. April 26, at various listening rooms in downtown Seymour. The listening rooms are the Jackson County Visitor Center, Copper Top event venue, and the Knights of Columbus. Tickets are available for the weekend or individual nights. Click here for tickets.

Medora Timberjacks – The Medora Timberjacks will host Pontiac during a game at 7 p.m. April 26, at Medora High School, 200 West Block Main Street, Medora.

‘Leading Ladies’ – Jackson County Community Theatre will present ‘Leading Ladies’ during shows at 7:30 p.m. April 26, and 27, at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 West Walnut Street, Brownstown. Tickets are available by clicking here.

Karaoke – All Star DJ service will offer Karaoke at 8 p.m. April 26, at the Seymour American Legion, 402 West Second Street, Seymour.


Saturday, April 27

Parking Lot Pickers – The Seymour Museum Center will host Parking Lot Pickers from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Robertson Feed Mill & Walnut Street parking lots.

Independent Bookstore Day – The Magic of Books Bookstore will participate in Independent Bookstore Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27, at the store, 115 West Second Street, Seymour.

Downtown Shop Around – Seymour Main Street will host Downtown Shop Around from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27, at participating businesses in downtown Seymour.

Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire – The Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire will host its festival for Celtic weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 27, at Swifty Events Center, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Click here for more information.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Inside the Song – Crossroads Acoustic Fest and Robert Reynolds will host Inside the Song at 11 a.m. April 27, at the Jackson County Visitor Center, 100 North Broadway Street, Seymour. The event will feature a discussion among songwriters and artists performing at the festival.

Larry McDonald Memorial Guitar Show – The Larry McDonald Memorial Guitar Show presented by This Old Guitar Music Store and the Jackson County Visitor Center will be from noon to 3 p.m. April 27, at the Knights of Columbus in downtown Seymour. The event is free to attend and will feature guitars from local owners. Guitars will be on display and some will be available to play, to buy or trade. Oil Painting Workshop – SICA will host a Oil Painting workshop at noon April 20, at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. The workshops are designed to be for all ages and experience levels. Call SICA during hours at 812-522-2278 for more information or to register.

Live music at Seymour Brewing Co. – Bomar and Ritter will perform at 6:30 p.m. April 27, at The Seymour Brewing Company, 755 West Second Street, Seymour.

Vick’s Liquor Store Tasting – Vick’s Liquor Store will host a Mint Julep tasting at 6 p.m. May 1, at the store, 400 East Tipton Street, Seymour. There also will be Starlight Rum Finished Bourbon, Maker’s Mark, and Woodford Reserve available to taste.
