One of Jackson County’s most cherished traditions will return this year with the annual Fort Vallonia Days celebration! There’s also so much fun this weekend that you won’t want to miss out on! The Jackson County Visitor Center has it all for you right here with Your Guide to the Weekend.

Thursday, October 14

Free Family Movie Night – Schuler Bauer is hosting Family Movie Night by showing “Hocus Pocus” at 7 p.m. at Steinker Platz, 212 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. There will be popcorn and candy.

Friday, October 15

Fort Vallonia Days Pumpkin Decorating Contest – The Fort Vallonia Days Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be from 4 to 6 p.m. in Vallonia.

Live Music at the Eagles – Rich Hampton will play from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Fear Fair – Indiana’s Scariest Haunted House will offer haunts from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Order tickets by clicking here.

Movie Night at Tiemeyer’s Farm Market – Tiemeyer’s Farm Market will show “Daddy I’m a Zombie” and then “Night of the Living Dead” for movie night. Movies are free and start at dusk. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs.

Haunted Trail and Corn Maze – Tiemeyer’s Timber Terrors will offer up its haunted trail and corn maze at Tiemeyer’s Farm Market. All the haunted will being at dusk. Admission is $15 for the trail and $10 for the maze.


Saturday, October 16

Fort Vallonia Days – The 52nd Annual Fort Vallonia Days is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday includes the Mick Gray Memorial Trail Ride, Wes Hartley Muzzle Loading Shoot, baby contest, live music, parade and so much more. Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot.

Fall Craft Show – The New Beginnings Church of God will host its Fall Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1039 North O’Brien Street, Seymour. The event will include vendors, food and music.

Fall Cruise In – The Seymour Area Cruiser will host its Fall Cruise In from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rockford Ridge.

Live Music at Jackson Live – The Keepin’ It Country series will begin at 7 p.m. at Jackson Live. Tickets are available by calling 812-521-1282.

Live Music at Brewskies Downtown – Matt Trimnell will play from 8 to 11 p.m. at Brewskies Downtown.

Zombie Hunt at Starve Hollow – Participate in the Starve Hollow State Recreation Area’s Zombie Hunt from October 17 through October 31. Stop by the Main Gate to purchase your Zombie Hunting License for $5.00 and go on the hunt of an after-life time. Ten zombies will be hidden throughout Starve Hollow and to stop them you must take a selfie with them. Find all 10 and bring your Zombie Hunting License and the selfies back to the Main Gate or the Forest Education Center and if you’re successful, you can choose a Starve Hollow SRA Souvenir Cup or Koozie while supplies last.

Jackson County Women’s Conference – The Jackson County Chamber’s annual Women’s Conference is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chateau de Pique Winery and Brewery. The event includes a guest speaker, resources, vendors and more.
