It’s Memorial Day Weekend, and we encourage you to pause and remember the sacrifices made for our country. Have a great weekend!

Thursday, May 23

SICA Open Hours – SICA will be open for regular hours, 1 to 6 p.m. May 23. There’s also the opportunity to work on art during the open hours. While there will be no formal instruction, this time will allow artists and those interested in art to gather and collaborate. For more information call or text 812-522-2278.

Live music at the Seymour Brewing Co. – Sarah Morris will play at 6:30 p.m. May 16, at Harmony Park outside the Seymour Brewing Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.


Friday, May 24

Live music at Meek’s – Matt Trimnell will play at 8 p.m. May 24, at Meek’s Bar & Grill, 2105 South County Road 750E, Seymour.

Live music at Rails – Coleshine will play at 7 p.m. May 24, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.


Saturday, May 25

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon, May 25, in the farmers market lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire – The Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire will host its festival for Viking Weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25, at Swifty Events Center, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Click here for more information.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Brownstown Speedway – Race Night at the Brownstown Speedway is scheduled for May 18, at the track, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature Super Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics. Click here for information.

Live music at Harmony Park – These Fine Gentleman and Honey White will play at 6:30 p.m. May 25, at Harmony Park, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Poplar Street – Ruben Guthrie will play at 7 p.m. May 25, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at Rails – Brian Hopkins will play at 7 p.m. May 25, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.


Sunday, May 26

Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire – The Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire will host its festival for Viking Weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 26, at Swifty Events Center, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Click here for more information.

Memorial Day Service – The Memorial Day Service in Brownstown will be at 1:30 p.m. May 26, at the Jackson County Courthouse.

Monday, May 27

Clearspring Roots Festival – The Clearspring Roots Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 27, at 3248 North Broadway, Norman. The festival will feature food, crafts, music, ice cream, and more. There will be free ice cream scoops to the first 200 people who donate to the Clearspring Baptist Church food pantry. Proceeds from the event will go toward to the Clearspring Cemetery and Clearspring Baptist Church food pantry.

Memorial Day Service – The Seymour American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a Memorial Day Service at 11 a.m. May 27, at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
