Thursday, June 2

SICA Art Club – Join the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Art Club from 2 to 7 p.m. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Bring what you’ve been working on and enjoy the company of other artists.

Live music at Reed’s Place – Fred Elam will play from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, 224 South Chestnut Street.


Friday, June 3

Free Lunch at the JCVC – Join us here from 11 a.m. to noon at the Jackson County Visitor Center for WJAA Radio 96.3 Free Summer of Fun kickoff! We will be giving away hot dogs, chips, cookies and a drink to the first 100 people!

Jackson County Antique Machinery Show – The Jackson County Antique Machinery Show will be June 3 and 4 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The featured group will be Allis Chalmers Indiana Built Engines. It’s $2 for admission, veterans free on Friday. This event includes a swap meet, flea market, silent auction, kids activities, open cruise in, live demonstrations and live music with a ham and beans dinner (Friday at 6:30 p.m.).

Stardust Movie Series – A free movie night organized by the Jackson County Chamber will be held at 6 p.m. at Bard Street Park, 208 Moore Street, Crothersville. The movie “The Goonies” will be offered and everyone can bring a chair or blanket.

Live music at Poplar Street Restaurant – Brian Hopkins will play at 7 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at Harmony Park – Shannon Lawson will play at 7 p.m. at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Friday Night Live – John Whitcomb and Poets & Politicians will play at 7 p.m. for Friday Night Live Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour.

Live music at Rails – Mitch Ellis will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at On the Rox – Exotic Species will perform at 8 p.m. on the patio at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour. 


Saturday, June 4

Free DNR Fishing Day – There is no fishing license required to fish Indiana’s public waters on June 4 and 5.

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot in Seymour.

Airplane Ride Day – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will host Airplane Ride Day at the airport runway across from the museum, 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. For a donation to the museum, you can ride in an airplane flown by experienced pilots. The museum also will be open.

Rumble at Fort Vallonia – The Driftwood Township Volunteer Fire Department will host the Rumble at Fort Vallonia car show and concert from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Vallonia. Oldies music will be played throughout the day and Justyn Underwood Band will play starting at 3 p.m. followed by Killin’ Smalls. There will be food available for purchase.

Euchre Tournament – The Pershing Township Lions Club will host a Soup Supper and Euchre Tournament beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Freetown Senior Citizens Center. The tournament will begin at 6 p.m. It’s $5 for the meal and $5 to enter the tournament.

Live music at Rails – Brad Treadway will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.


Sunday, June 5

Free DNR Fishing Day – There is no fishing license required to fish Indiana’s public waters on June 4 and 5.

Inaugural Richard “Dick” Elmore Golf Scramble – The Richard “Dick” Elmore Golf Scramble is set for 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. (shotgun starts) Shadowood Golf Course. It is $85 per person and includes lunch and a goody bag. Call Dody Bowman at 812-344-7535 to register. Proceeds go to a high school senior attending trade or technical school.

Tuesday, June 7

Trivia night at Harmony Park – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host its summer trivia series at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour. The series is five straight weeks beginning May 31.


Wednesday, June 8

Wednesday Evening Rides – Join the Jackson County Bicycle Club for its Wednesday Evening Ride. The group will leave at 6 p.m. from Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street from the parking lot facing Westgate Road. This week’s ride is 4.5 miles. The group increases each week by a half mile until they reach 10-mile rides each week through October. Visit the Facebook group for updates and more information.
