This weekend is so jam-packed with a variety of events featuring a national music act making its way here to supporting independent record stores and everything in between. Don’t miss a fun 5K or your chance to support our two local theatres.

Thursday, July 15

Trivia Night – It’s the latest Patty Bros Entertainment Trivia Night at Harmony Park in Seymour. All the fun starts at 6 p.m.

City Jam – Seymour Main Street’s City Jam will be at 6:30 p.m. at Crossroads Community Park in Downtown Seymour. The Naked Karate Girls will be performing. Food and drinks begin at 6 p.m.


Friday, July 16

Live Music at Rails – John Whitcomb will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery.

National Act at Jackson Live – McBride and the Ride will perform at 7 p.m. at Jackson Live. Don’t miss out on the first national touring act at the venue. Tickets are available by calling 812-521-1282.

“The Princess Who Had No Name” – The Jackson County Young Artists Theatre will present The Princess Who Had No Name with shows at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Jackson County Community Theatre in Brownstown. (Sunday’s is a 2:30 p.m. Matinee.) Tickets are $8. Order Tickets.

“The Savannah Sipping Society” – The Actors Community Theatre of Seymour will present The Savannah Sipping Society with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the theater in Seymour. Tickets are $12. Order Tickets.

Live Music at On the Rox – Hewitt and Fink will perform at 8 p.m. at On the Rox. 


Saturday, July 17

Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot.

Dolly Dash – Read Jackson County and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library’s Jackson County chapter will offer the Dolly Dash 5K beginning at 9 a.m. at Harmony Park in Seymour. There will be prizes for three adult winners. Click here to register for the race.

Record Store Day – 13th Floor will be offering up some limited and highly collectible records released only through independent record stores from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be unique records by Tom Petty, Prince, The Doors, AC/DC, Deftones, Motorhead, Elton John, and many more.The day will including a few free bags, buttons, and posters while supplies last.

Race time – Races featuring pro late models, modifieds, pure stocks, crown vics and MMSA mini sprints will take place at 6 p.m. at Brownstown Speedway.

Live Music at Harmony Park – The Alley Katz will perform at 6 p.m. at Harmony Park in Seymour.

Live Music at Rails – Jackson Snelling will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery.
