The Jackson County Fair returns this weekend, but there’s all kinds of fun from now until Sunday! Spent the weekend exploring it all in Jackson County!

Thursday, July 20

Seymour City Jam – Seymour Main Street will present the July edition of Seymour City Jam featuring Gen X at 6:30 p.m. July 20, at Knight of Columbus in downtown Seymour. Sponsor booths, food, and drinks are available beginning at 6 p.m. and those who attend may bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Live music at Harmony Park – Hyryder will play at 6:30 p.m. July 20, at Harmony Park outside the Brooklyn Pizza Co., 753 West Second Street, Seymour. It’s $10 to enter.


Friday, July 21

Live music at Chateau de Pique – Albert Nolting will play at 6 p.m., July 21, at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery, 6361 North County Road 760E, Seymour.

Softball & Movie Night – The Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host a softball game and movie night at 6:30 p.m. July 21, at Brownstown Central High School, 500 North Elm Street, Brownstown. There will be a softball game at 6:30 p.m. and then the Carl Erskine Documentary ‘The Best We’ve Got: The Carl Erskine Story’ will be shown.

Live music at Harmony Park – Skyline Drive will play at 6:30 p.m. July 21, at Harmony Park outside the Brooklyn Pizza Co., 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Side Track’d – Fred Elam will play at 7 p.m. July 21, at Side Track’d, 1115 West Spring Street, Brownstown.

Live music at Rails – Gary Brown will play at 7 p.m. July 21, at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

‘Finding Nemo Jr.’ – The Jackson County Young Artists’ Theatre’s will present ‘Finding Nemo Jr.’ during performances at 7:30 p.m. July 21, 22, 28, 29, and at 2:30 p.m. July 23, 30, at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 West Walnut Street, Brownstown. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children. Click here for tickets.

Live music at Poplar Street – Sibling Rivalry will play at 8 p.m. July 21, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at On the Rox – Andy Combs will play at 8 p.m. July 21, at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour.

Live music at Meek’s – Matt Trimnell will play at 8 p.m. July 21, at Meek’s Bar & Grill, 2105 South County Road 750E, Seymour.


Saturday, July 22

Breakfast Fundraiser – The Crothersville Seniors Center will host a breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 22, at the center, 211 East Main Street, Crothersville. It’s a freewill donation and the menu will include biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, hash browns, milk, orange juice, and coffee. Proceeds benefit the center.

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon July 22, at the farmers market parking lot off Walnut Street.

Car Wash Benefit – A benefit car wash for Evan Campbell is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22, at Taco Bell, 1509 East Tipton Street, Seymour. Cash donations will be accepted for Campbell, who will be having surgery to remove a brain tumor.

Educators Open House – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host an Educators Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22, at the refuge visitor center, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. The open house will offer resources on wildlife and conservation topics to use in the school year.  For more information email Muscatatuck@fws.gov of call the refuge office at 812-522-4352 x 12.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22, at 1035 A Avenue, Seymour.

Racin’ Mason Fun Zone – The new space for Racin’ Mason Pizza & Fun Zone will be celebrated with an all day event, July 22, at 369 Tanger Boulevard, Seymour. The day will start with a ribbon cutting at noon, followed by a cornhole tournament at 2 p.m. with proceeds going to the Emma Grace Foundation, live music from 2 to 5 p.m. by Dirty Laundry, as well as a band in the evening.

Book Signing – The book signing for Downtown Rescue will take place at 2 p.m. July 22, at Dr. Nate Optometrist’s office, 314 South Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Live music at Rails – Dwight Hendrix will play at 7 p.m. July 8, at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.
