June is close to wrapping up and there is plenty of fun this weekend in Jackson County! Here’s Your Guide to the Weekend.

Thursday, June 23

SICA Art Club – Join the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Art Club from 2 to 7 p.m. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Bring what you’ve been working on and enjoy the company of other artists.

Live music at Reed’s Place – Fred Elam will play from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, 224 South Chestnut Street.


Friday, June 24

Live music at Poplar Street Restaurant – Brad Treadway will play at 7 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at Harmony Park – Don Pedigo and the Coyotes will play at 7 p.m. at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Rails – Dave will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at On the Rox – Soulshine will perform at 8 p.m. on the patio at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour. 


Saturday, June 25

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot in Seymour.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. Be sure to check out this wonderful place that is open each Saturday!

St. Ambrose Parish Festival – St. Ambrose Catholic Church will host a Parish Festival from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the church. The day will feature free kids games, craft vendors, a 50/50 raffle drawing, a reverse raffle, food and more. There will be hot dogs, authentic tacos, fruit, ice cream, and from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., a Knights of Columbus Chicken Dinner.

Cars and Guitars – Cars and Guitars will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. in downtown Seymour. Check out all the awesome cars through the city’s streets. An Elvis Tribute Band will play at 6 p.m. downtown. Proceeds from the event go to purchase handicap-accessible playground equipment.

Race – It’s race night at Brownstown Speedway! Be sure to stop by the track and see the Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics. View the full schedule and get ticket information at brownstownspeedway.com.

Live music at Rails – Jackson Snelling will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at The Moose – Rich Hampton and Brad Treadway will play at 7 p.m. at the Moose Lodge 418 East Sixth Street, Seymour.


Sunday, June 26

Columbus City Band – The Columbus City Band will play at 2 p.m. at Heritage Park on the courthouse square in Brownstown.

Seymour PRIDE – Join organizers for the second Seymour PRIDE event from noon to 5 p.m. at Celebrations in Seymour. There will be guest speakers, music, door prizes, drag show, kids coloring table, face painting and more.

Tuesday, June 28

Trivia night at Harmony Park – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host its summer trivia series at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour. The series is five straight weeks beginning May 31.


Wednesday, June 29

Dr. Bud Charity Golf Tournament – The Dr. Bud Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for 8 a.m. at Shadowood Golf Course.

Wednesday Evening Rides – Join the Jackson County Bicycle Club for its Wednesday Evening Ride. The group will leave at 6 p.m. from Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street from the parking lot facing Westgate Road. This week’s ride is 6 miles. The group increases each week by a half mile until they reach 10-mile rides each week through October. Visit the Facebook group for updates and more information.
