Tuesday, September 19
Sleep Seminar – Dr. Emilee SurVance will host a Sleep Seminar at 6:30 p.m. September 19, at the Schneck Professional Building in Parking Garage Level 3. The event will feature SurVance’s sleep specialty expertise for adults and pediatric patients.
Wednesday, September 20
Nature Explorer’s Club – The Nature Explorer’s Club will meet at 5 p.m. September 20, at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, Seymour. The group meets each week for 12 weeks with a different theme, story, snack, song, activity, hike, journal, and play. Click here to sign up.
Thursday, September 21
Weed Wrangle – The Jackson County Invasive Partnership will host a Weed Wrangle from 5:30 to 7 p.m. September 21, at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge in Seymour. The group will remove invasive multiflora from the Chestnut Ridge Trail at the refuge visitor center. All ages are welcome, and pizza will be provided following the work. Seymour City Jam – Seymour Main Street will host its final Seymour City Jam featuring Sounds of Summer: A Beach Boys Tribute Band, at 6:30 p.m. September 21, at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour. The food truck, vendor tents, and adult beverages truck will open at 6 p.m. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Trivia Night – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host Trivia Night at 6 p.m., September 21, at Harmony Park next to the Brooklyn Pizza and Seymour Brewing Co.
Friday, September 22
Golf for Dummies – The Jackson County Chamber will host Golf for Dummies at noon September 22, at Hickory Hills Golf Club, Brownstown. It’s $60 per player, which includes lunch at 11 a.m. Click here to register.
Trivia – The Magic of Books Bookstore will host ‘The Office’ trivia from 6 to 8 p.m. September 22, at the store, 115 West Second Street, Seymour. It’s $20 per ticket. Click here to purchase.
Bowman 50 – The Bowman 50 at the Brownstown Speedway will be held September 22, at the speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature ILMS Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics. It will feature Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with $10,000 to win.
Live music at Poplar Street – Mike Staublin will play at 7 p.m. September 22, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.
Jackson Bowl – Brownstown Central High School and Seymour High School football teams will face off in the annual Jackson Bowl at 7 p.m. September 22, at Seymour High School.
‘Misery’ – The Jackson County Community Theatre will present ‘Misery’ with shows at 7:30 p.m. September 22, 23, 29, 30, and at 2:30 p.m. September 24, at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 West Walnut Street, Brownstown. Jimmy Buffett Tribute – David Hartung will play Jimmy Buffett songs during a tribute concert at 9 p.m. September 22, at Harmony Park next to the Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.
Saturday, September 23
Free Fishing Day – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Free Fishing Day is September 23. A fishing license is not required to fish Indiana’s public waters.
Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon September 23, at the farmers market parking lot off Walnut Street.
Live music at Moxie Coffee Co. – The Ang Trio jazz band will play from 10 a.m. to noon September 23, at Moxie Coffee Company, 218 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The music is part of the coffee shop’s one year anniversary.
Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 23, at 1035 A Avenue, Seymour.
Seymour Museum Center – The Seymour Museum Center will be open for its regular hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 23, at 220 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.
Fundraiser – The Crothersville History & Cultural Arts Association will host a pulled pork meal fundraiser from 3 to 6 p.m. September 23, at Hamacher Hall in Crothersville. It’s a freewill offering with proceeds going to repair the large stained glass window at the building. Info: 812-498-7768.
Mystic Moon Market Fall Festival – The Mystic Moon Market Fall Festival will be from 4 to 8 p.m. September 23, at West Second Street. There will be 20+ vendors, a beer garden Lola’s Modern Food Truck, Kona Ice, live music featuring Super Truckers, Sydney Sleadd and Swarm of Bees, as well as Soul Shine. The event is free to attend.
Bardstock – Crothersville Parks will host Bardstock Music in the Park from 5 to 9 p.m. September 23, at Bard Street Park in Crothersville. There will be open mic from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by Brian Fink, and then Straight Shooter from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Everyone should bring chairs and consider carpooling as parking will be limited. The event includes a food truck and cornhole.
Spaghetti Fundraiser – The Redding Township Volunteer Fire Department will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. September 23, at the station, 2114 High Street, Seymour. It’s $7 for the meal.
Jackson 100 – The biggest race of the year, the 44th annual Jackson 100 is scheduled for September 23, at the speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with $30,000 to win.

Live music at the Jackson County History Center – Rich Hampton at 7 p.m. September 23, at the center, 105 North Sugar Street, Brownstown. Food will be available for purchase between 6 and 8 p.m. Following the music, there will be an open jam session.

Jackson County FestAbility – The ARC of Jackson County will host the Jackson County FestAbility from 10 a.m. to noon, September 30, at the Boys & Girls Club of SEymour, 950 North O’Brien Street, Seymour. The event is for those with special needs and their families. There will be face painting, coloring, Play-Doh, therapy dogs, music, dancing, sensory room, Flash the Mini Horse, and door prizes. There also will be resources available for families.
Car Show – The Norman Station Conservation Club will host a car show at 10 a.m. September 30, at the club, 2672 North County Road 1100W, Norman.
Car Show – Swifty Events will host the Hoods & Horses Car Show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Swifty Farms, 351 South U.S. 31, Seymour. Proceeds from the event will go to Karts for Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care.
Race Night – Race night at Brownstown Speedway will feature ILMS pro late models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, Crown Vics, at the speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown.
Live music at Starve Hollow SRA – Born Again will play at 6:30 p.m. September 30, at Starve Hollow State Recreation Area in Vallonia. The band is bluegrass-style sponsored by the Driftwood Christian Church. The music will take place at the outside stage at the property.
