Thursday, August 17

Seymour City Jam – American Fools, a John Mellencamp Tribute Band, will play at the August edition of Seymour City Jam at 6:30 p.m. August 17, at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour.

Friday, August 18

Tom Gray Memorial Car Show – The 8th annual Fraternal Order of Police Tom Gray Memorial Car Show will be from 5 to 8 p.m. August 18, in the 100 block of South Walnut Street, Seymour. It’s $15 to register. There will be prizes, silent auction items, and a live auction of a $10,000 Home Improvement Package from Royalty Roofing and Construction. All proceeds go to the Cops and Kids program.

Live music at Harmony Park – Shannon Lawson will play at 6:30 p.m. August 18, at Harmony Park outside the Brooklyn Pizza Co., 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Poplar Street – Brian Hopkins will play at 7 p.m. August 18, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at Side Track’d – Fred Elam will play at 7 p.m. August 18, at Side Track’d, 1115 West Spring Street, Brownstown.

Live music at Rails – Forrest Turner will play at 7 p.m. August 18, at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at On the Rox – Sibling Rivalry will play at 8 p.m. August 18, at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour.


Saturday, August 19

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon August 19, at the farmers market parking lot off Walnut Street.

READ Jackson County – READ Jackson County will host a Pickleball Tournament at 8 a.m. August 19, at Gaiser Park, 300 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The event will include four total tournament and it’s $25 per person with snacks and water provided. Prizes will be awarded. Click here to sign up. 

Downtown Shop Around – Seymour Main Street’s Downtown Shop Around is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. August 19 at participating businesses in downtown Seymour. There will be a Shop Before You Scoop theme for this Downtown Shop Around. Visit participating locations for a punch card where you will be entered to win $100, $50, or $25.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 19, at 1035 A Avenue, Seymour.

Golf Scramble – On the Rox will host a Golf Scramble at 11 a.m. August 19, at Hickory Hills Golf Course, 1509 State Road 135, Brownstown. It’s $40 to participate.

Pig in the Park – The Seymour Noon Lions Club will host Pig in the Park from noon to 4 p.m., August 19, at Gaiser Park, 300 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The event will include a pulled pork meal and vendors with community resources.

Car Show – The Follow the Son Car Show will be from noon to 3 p.m. August 19, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 504 North Walnut Street, Seymour.

Ice Cream Social – The Crothersville Historical Society will host an ice cream social from 4 to 6 p.m. August 19, at Hamacher Hall, 211 East Howard Street, Crothersville. It is a free will donation with proceeds going to repair one of the building’s stained glass windows in need of repair.

Trinity United Methodist Church Meal – Trinity United Methodist Church will host its Free Meal for the Community from 5 to 7 p.m. August 19, at the church, 333 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. This month’s menu is Chicken and Noodles, Green Beans and Cake.

Scoop the Loop – Scoop the Loop will begin at 6 p.m., August 19, in downtown Seymour.

Brownstown Speedway – The race at Brownstown Speedway on August 19 will feature ILMS Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Hornets, Crown Vics. Click here for the website for all details and tickets.

Live music at Rails – Dave Campbell will play at 7 p.m. August 19, at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at Brewskies Downtown – Misty Marie will play at 7 p.m. August 19, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Meek’s – Rich Hampton will play at 8 p.m. August 19, at Meek’s Bar & Grill, 2105 South County Road 750E, Seymour.


Sunday, August 20

Fun, Food, Faith Fest – The Fun, Food, and Faith Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 20, at Lutheran Central School, at Lutheran Central School, 415 North Elm Street, Brownstown. There will be food trucks, live music, a corn hole tournament, bake walk and a 50/50 raffle.

Autocross Race – The Columbus Sports Car Club will host the CSCC Autocross race at 10:30 a.m. August 20, at the Seymour Municipal Airport, 1025 A Avenue, Seymour. It’s free for spectators to attend.
