This weekend is sure to be a fun one with one of Jackson County’s most celebrated traditions returning.

The Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Truck and Tractors Pulls will return in Tampico! But there’s also plenty more to do this weekend, so be sure to read through the whole schedule. Thursday, June 17

Trivia – Patty Bros Entertainment will host Trivia Night at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza and Seymour Brewing Company at 6 p.m. It’s free to enter and teams can be made up of up to 6 members.

Pulls – The Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department Truck and Tractor Pulls is slated for June 17 through June 19 in Tampico. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Night.

City Jam – The second City Jam by Seymour Main Street is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Crossroads Community Park. Don’t miss the Parrots of the Caribbean.

Purdue event – An event for Purdue incoming students, current students, alumni and supporters is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Seymour. There will be pizza, free swag, and a drawing for 2 $250 scholarships available for those who attend. Students and Alumni will share experiences with incoming students.

Free Swimming – A Summer Pool Party is being offered by 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Shields Park Pool in Seymour. NTN Driveshaft has organized it and the event will feature free goodies, swimming, music and on-the-spot job offers.


Friday, June 18

Tee time – The Jackson County Chamber will host its annual golf tournament at 10:30 a.m. at Shadowood Golf Course. Registration is full, so if you’re signed up, good luck!

Live music at Harmony Park – Acoustic Hyryder Night will be at 7 p.m. at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza and Seymour Brewing Company with Charlie and Ping covering your favorite Grateful Dead tunes.

Live music at Rails – Austin James will perform at 7 p.m. on the patio at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery.

Live Music at On the Rox – Thunderbolt will perform at 8 p.m. on the patio at On the Rox.


Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot.

Barn Open House – The Stuckwisch Round Barn open house is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the barn. Click here for the Google Maps location.

Racing at Brownstown Speedway – There will be racing at Brownstown Speedway featuring Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Hornets.

Live music at Rails – Jackson Snelling will perform at 7 p.m. on the patio at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery.

Live music at Luke’s Country Inn – Matt Williams will perform at 8 p.m. at Luke’s Country Inn.

Live music at Poplar Street – Soul Express will perform at 8 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant.
