Thursday, September 7

Live music at Reed’s Place – Fred Elam will play at 6 p.m. September 7, at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, 224 South Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Trivia Night – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host Trivia Night at 6 p.m., September 7, at Harmony Park, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.


Friday, September 8

Fall Gathering Open House – MM Designs Flowers & Gifts will host a Fall Gathering Open House from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. September 8, at the shop, 11033 East County Road 200S, Uniontown. There will be a free gift for each customer and sign ups for a gift basket.

Country Neighbors Tour – The Country Neighbors’ Reap the Harvest Home Tour will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. September 8, at various home-based businesses in Jackson and Lawrence counties. Stop by the Jackson County Visitor Center for a brochure.

Live music at San Marco’s – Mariachi Sol Jalisciense will play from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. September 8, at San Marco’s Mexican Restaurant, 501 North Ewing Street, Seymour.

Live music at Chateau de Pique – The Ang Trio will play at 6 p.m. September 8, at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery, 6361 North County Road 760E, Seymour.

Live music at Poplar Street – Rich Hampton will play at 7 p.m. September 8, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon September 9, at the farmers market parking lot off Walnut Street.

Guns, Grill & Golf – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Reserve program will host the Guns, Grill & Golf event at 8 a.m. September 9, at Hickory Hills Golf Club, 1509 State Road 135, Brownstown. Medora Farmers Market – The Medora Community Farmers Market will operate from 9 a.m. to noon, September 9, at Medora Town Park.

Morey’s Vendor Barn Sale – Morey’s Vendor Barn Sale will host its first ever Fall market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 9, at the barn, 10789 East County Road 900N, Seymour.

Humane Society Fly In – The Southern Indiana Flying Eagles will host the Humane Society Fly In at 10 a.m. September 9, at the group’s RC Field in the Freeman Industrial Complex. Pilots will be flying remote controlled scale model airplanes, and gathering donations. Cash donations are accepted as well as supplies including paper towels, bleach, cat litter, Purina Dog Chow, dog biscuits and more. All proceeds will go the Humane Society of Jackson County.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 9, at 1035 A Avenue, Seymour.

MM Designs Open House – MM Designs Flowers & Gifts will host a Fall Gathering Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 9, at the shop, 11033 East County Road 200S, Uniontown. There will be a free gift for each customer and sign ups for a gift basket.

Seymour Museum Center – The Seymour Museum Center will be open for its regular hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 9, at 220 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Magic of Books Author Signing – The Magic of Books Bookstore will host an author signing from noon to 4 p.m. September 9, at the Knights of Columbus, 118 East Second Street, Seymour.

Open House – The Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department will have an open house from noon to 3 p.m. September 9, at the station, 200 Moore Street, Crothersville. THere will be food, music, games, and a bounce house for kids.

Benefit – A benefit for Amara Lee Robinson and her family will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. September 9, at Harmony Park, 753 West Second Street, Seymour. Proceeds from the event will go to Robinson’s family for medical bills to help her treat heterotaxy syndrome.

Grab & Go Cookout – Emanuel Lutheran Church – Dudleytown – will host its annual Grab & Go Cookout from 4 to 7 p.m. September 9, at the church, 2174 South County Road 750E, Seymour. Meals come with a choice of a tenderloin sandwich or pork burger and includes baked beans, baked potato, coleslaw, and dessert for a freewill offering. There will be a silent auction available on the church Facebook page and preordering meals can be done by calling 812-522-2526 through 9 p.m. September 8.

Outdoor Worship Concert – Hanna Klein will perform at 5 p.m. September 9, at the Surprise Christian Church, 6382 North County Road 100 West, Seymour. It is free to attend.

Denim & Diamonds Dance – The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Denim & Diamonds Dance from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour. If weather doesn’t permit, it will be at the Seymour Community Center. Moms and sons are invited to take part in the fun of food, music and dancing. The event is limited to 50 and tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

Live music at Harmony Park – Kaelin Grube featuring Brooklyn Covey will play at 6:30 p.m. September 9, at Harmony Park, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Indiana High School Rodeo – The Indiana High School Rodeo will return to Jackson County with the rodeo at 6:45 p.m. September 9, at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. It’s $5 to enter, kids 8 and under are free.

Live music at Poplar Street – The Dwight Hendrix Experience will play at 7 p.m. September 9, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at Brewskies Downtown – Justyn Underwood will play at 8 p.m. September 9, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.


Sunday, September 10

ILS Fish Fry – Immanuel Lutheran School will host its annual fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church fair stand at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. It’s a freewill donation with proceeds going to the school.

Knitting Group – SICA’s knitting group will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. September 11, at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. It’s free to attend.


Tuesday, September 12

Trivia – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host Trivia Night at 6:30 p.m. September 12, at Seymour Pizza Palace, at 832 West Tipton Street, Seymour.


Wednesday, September 13

Nature Time – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host Nature Time Pre-School Event at 9:30 a.m. September 13, at the refuge visitor center, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. No registration is required and there is a different theme each month.

Nature Explorer’s Club – The Nature Explorer’s Club will meet at 5 p.m. September 13, at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, Seymour. The group meets each week for 12 weeks with a different theme, story, snack, song, activity, hike, journal, and play. Click here to sign up.
